MEET OUR PRESIDENT

MUHAMMAD IQBAL KHAN

A Visionary Leader Serving Humanity Since 1979

Muhammad Iqbal Khan has been the driving force behind Pakistan Medico International since its foundation in 1979. With over five decades of dedicated service to Pakistan’s most vulnerable communities, he has transformed PMI from a small welfare initiative into one of Pakistan’s most trusted and impactful social welfare organizations.

His Journey:

In 1979, Muhammad Iqbal Khan, along with a group of like-minded individuals, recognized a critical gap in Pakistan’s social welfare landscape. They saw families struggling without access to healthcare, children unable to afford education, and communities devastated by disasters with no support system. This vision led to the establishment of Pakistan Medico International.

“Every patient who dies from a preventable illness due to poverty is a failure of our collective humanity. We exist to close that gap, one community at a time.”
Our Story -

A Historic Moment in PMI's Legacy

In a landmark visit that reinforced Pakistan Medico International’s credibility and humanitarian impact, His Highness Prince Karim Aga Khan IV visited PMI and made a generous donation to support its welfare initiatives. This historic meeting, captured in this rare photograph, symbolized the recognition of PMI’s unwavering commitment to serving Pakistan’s most vulnerable communities. The Aga Khan’s support validated PMI’s decades-long mission of providing free healthcare, education, and social welfare services without discrimination. His visit not only brought financial support but also international recognition to PMI’s grassroots humanitarian work. This moment stands as a testament to PMI’s reputation as a trustworthy, impactful organization worthy of support from global humanitarian leaders. The partnership between the Aga Khan Development Network’s vision and PMI’s on-ground service delivery strengthened the organization’s capacity to serve even more communities across Pakistan.
